If you love baking but you do not like cleaning the oven, you should consider buying a Kenmore self-cleaning oven. As the name implies, this oven cleans itself, but of course it still needs a little help from you.

Having a Kenmore self-cleaning oven in your kitchen is very beneficial because of several things. It makes cleaning the oven easier. You do not need to spend countless hours scrubbing and washing the inside of your oven. This is not only time consuming and tedious. It also gives you knee aches and back pains. You also do not need to use chemicals or cleaners just to remove the charred food inside your oven. Using chemicals also sometimes damage the oven and is dangerous especially if you have kids or pets around. Using a Kenmore self-cleaning oven saves you time, energy, and money.

And even if you lost the manual that instructs you how to clean your Kenmore self-cleaning oven, you do not need to worry because cleaning it—or helping it clean itself, if you want to be more technical—is very easy. Here are some instructions and tips for your Kenmore self-cleaning oven.

• Remove all the things inside your oven. This includes racks and anything that you have left inside. Clean the racks in your kitchen sink by using a dish detergent and water. Scrub the burnt food or foil debris that covers the racks. Rinse the racks thoroughly and let it air-dry. This will be one of the few times when you need to do some cleaning for your oven.
• Check the insides of the oven for some big food debris. Take them out as well. This will make the cleaning process easier for the oven. Try to help the oven as much as you can. After all, picking up debris is not so difficult compared to what you usually do when cleaning regular ovens.
• It is now time for the oven to do its job. Use the oven’s self-cleaning mode. To do it, switch on the “Clean” option to start the process. The door will automatically lock once you click the switch so that no one can open the oven door once it started the cleaning process. You should not pry open the oven door to take a peek no matter how curious you are because it is dangerous. You can open it after two or three hours once the oven has finished the cleaning process.
• While the oven is cleaning itself, do not get alarmed if there is smoke coming out of the oven. This is normal because the oven is cleaning itself at a very high temperature. The temperature when it is cleaning is higher than when it is cooking, so smoke is expected. The extreme heat inside the oven burns all the food and other debris and turns them to ash. There will also be popping sounds, which is also normal.
• After the cleaning process, you should still wait for about two hours until the oven is cool. Make sure that it is completely cool and safe to touch before you clean the inside. Clean the inside by using a slightly damp cloth to take out the ash from the oven. Using another cloth, wipe the oven thoroughly. Put the racks back in. You are now finished cleaning the oven.
